Distinctive designs and sustainable materials form the basis of the Vescom collections, which are produced in Europe. Technically, the wallcovering collections meet the high-quality requirements that are set by the contract market, such as fire retardancy, applicability, lightfastness and wear-resistance. Vescom uses exclusively green electricity and gas. The head office in The Netherlands, including the factory, works 100% CO-2 neutral. Vescom is ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified.
The Vescom Design Director, Christiane Muller was recently interviewed by the noteworthy Dutch Architecture & Design magazine, Frame, discussing the Vescom process. She explained that their approach is never to simply decorate a wall, but rather to create a surface to optimise it, stating, “To me, an architectural surface supports the total atmosphere of a space, increasing the quality of the environment both aesthetically and functionally” as well as, “Vescom asks what a material does to an interior: how it impacts people in connection to their productivity or relaxation in work, hospitality, healthcare, or retail spaces. And that is very different from designing textiles or materials for the home.”
